Works description

Tugatsu, underwent a complete change of colour during its refit by Compositeworks in dry dock at La Ciotat. The project required a full fair and repaint. All 3 deck levels and its superstructure were repainted in less than 10 weeks.

Background:

Dark colours are notorious for showing any flaws of workmanship and dust specs. Changing the hull’s colour to a striking, yet ‘unforgiving’ black required a full back to basics preparation and meticulous control of the paint environment. A rigid paint tent was constructed over the vessel and local tent areas with air filtration and extraction were erected for management of ‘work zones’. All this was achieved whilst working alongside other trades. Acamarine started working for Compositeworks in 2002, since then they have undertaken seven vessels from sailing yachts to 50 metre motor yachts.
